Zamfara State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Abdulmalik Gajam, has announced that the state’s 2025 budget is strategically crafted to foster a “New Zamfara.”
Speaking at a one-day stakeholder town hall meeting organized by the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Gajam emphasized that the budget is part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s “Renewed Hope” agenda aimed at transformative development.
The meeting, held on Saturday at the JB Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau, was convened to outline a comprehensive development strategy for the state’s future. According to Gajam, this approach ensures that the budget aligns closely with the priorities of the Zamfara people, focusing on improving livelihoods across the state.
In his address, Gajam noted that the 2025 budget proposal, set at ₦426 billion, represents a significant increase from last year’s budget, reflecting enhanced revenue generation due to reduced financial leakages. He highlighted that the budgetary framework is “promising and designed to change the narrative toward a brighter future for Zamfara’s residents.”
