Some parts of Victoria Island, Lekki Phase 1, Oniru and environs have been in darkness since the morning of Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. The cause of the problem is said to be cable theft and equipment damage and Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) are said to be working to rectify the problem.
The lack of effective communication by the electricity companies have forced residents of the areas to complain on social media. Many residents were not aware of the cause of the problem and several days had passed before the companies informed residents of the cause of the problem.
