Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni said for trans-border crimes to be fought, there was a need for robust inter-agency collaboration among civil and security agencies.
Buni stated this when he received the newly posted Controller of Immigration, Yobe State Command, Sule Sani Jega, who was on a familiarisation visit to the government house.
According to a statement by the Press Secretary to Yobe State Deputy Governor, Hussaini Mai Suleh, Governor Buni, represented by Idi Barde Gubana, also noted that synergy is the only way to curb the growing rate of insecurity in the border areas.
The Governor who congratulated the State Controller of Immigration on his posting to the state, also assured him of Governmentβs total support and encouragement for the service to discharge its constitutional mandate in the state.
The State Controller, Sule Sani Jega expressed gratitude to the state for its readiness to work closely with the immigration service.
βHarmonious working relationship between the government and security agencies will facilitate peaceful living and a safer environment for the citizensβ, he said.
Jega was posted to Yobe State following the retirement of his predecessor, Mohammed Tahir Kallamu, last Wednesday, after clocking 60 years of age.
