Former Representative Liz Cheney’s PAC donated $2.5 million in October to a Super PAC supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Cheney’s Super PAC, Our Great Task, contributed the funds to American Bridge 21st Century (AB PAC) on October 8, according to Federal Election Commission reports.
AB PAC has been active in targeting former President Trump, Harris’s main opponent, with negative advertisements addressing issues like abortion and the events of January 6, 2021. Cheney’s PAC, established in March, subtly criticized the Republican nominee earlier in the year with a D-Day-themed advertisement.
A staunch critic of Trump, Cheney expressed her intention to vote for the Democratic nominee, citing the dangers posed by Trump and asserting her commitment to constitutional values. Recently, Harris has sought to appeal to disenchanted GOP members, and Cheney has campaigned for her in hopes of attracting suburban voters in battleground states. As of early October, Our Great Task reported having $4.7 million in cash on hand, spending over $2.7 million so far this month, and retaining more than $2 million remaining.
FEC reports indicate that Cheney’s PAC has been utilizing a Democratic fundraising platform, ActBlue, for its contributions. Newsposter has reached out to AB PAC for further comment.
