The Ekiti State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, commissioned the newly constructed office complex for the Local Government Service Commission at the State Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti.
This momentous occasion marks the actualisation of a long-held dream, fulfilling a 28-year aspiration for a befitting office space for the Commission, which had operated from temporary accommodations since the creation of Ekiti State in 1996.
In his address, the Chairman, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mr Samuel Alaba Abejide, described the new office complex as a symbol of Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to improving the welfare of local government workers and fostering grassroots development across the state.
Among the notable achievements highlighted during the event were the appointment of three Permanent Secretaries from the Local Government Service, the promotion of 4,991 eligible officers, the recapitalisation of the Local Government Staff Loans Board with a ₦200 million revolving fund, and the procurement of 46 official vehicles for Heads of Local Administration (HLAs) in the Service.
The commissioning of this state-of-the-art facility, reflects our administration’s commitment to strengthening public service infrastructure and ensuring that local government workers have the necessary resources to effectively serve the people of Ekiti State.
