Okocha accuses Rivers Governor Fubara of creating his own political issues, as he reveals plans for the 2027 elections.
Tony Okocha, the former Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who has faced challenges recently, stated that Governor Sim Fubara is causing issues for himself.
Okocha stated that efforts would be made to undermine Fubara’s reputation before the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Wike and Fubara have been embroiled in a prolonged conflict that has resisted efforts at resolution by President Bola Tinubu and other political stakeholders.
The Minister, however, indicated a willingness to pursue a peaceful resolution if Fubara complied with the rule of law.
While speaking to journalists in Abuja, Okocha remarked that Wike was instrumental in Fubara becoming governor, noting that Fubara had never been a politician before.
Fubara is causing issues for himself. It’s our responsibility to undermine him and his party in order to secure victory in 2027.
I’m confident that over the next decade, no politician will be able to dismantle Wike’s political structure in Rivers State.
“I’m not claiming to be infallible, but I’m discussing what falls within the realm of human capability. Wike’s structure is not something that can easily be dismantled. It’s just not feasible, at least for now. Let’s leave it at that.”
