A McDonald’s employee who was eating lunch during his break and using the WiFi was stabbed dead by a woman.
Christopher Borras, 22, was in the dining room of the fast food restaurant in Jackson, Mississippi, on Sunday afternoon, when Destiny Gibson got in a dispute with him, police said.
Gibson allegedly pounced on Borras, who was not provoked, and drove a knife into his chest.
CCTV captured Borras trying to run away, and Gibson pursuing him.
We have retrieved that video, it is captured on video of her taking this young man’s life,’ Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade told WAPT.
‘He tried his best to make it through, but it was too much. It was a very large knife.’
Another customer at the restaurant who witnessed the crime ’subdued’ Gibson until cops arrived at the scene, according to investigators.
The reason for the argument was not immediately known.
‘Whatever the verbal exchange was, it did not justify you producing this very large knife to take this young man’s life,’ said Wade.
Michael Valluzo, the owner and operator of the McDonald’s at Northside Drive and Hanging Moss Road, said staff ‘are shocked and devastated by this violent attack on one of our own’.
‘We are providing counseling to our crew members and fully cooperating with law enforcement during their investigation,’ said Valluzo, adding that their thoughts are with Borras’ loved ones.
Gibson has been charged with with murder.
A Jackson Municipal Court judge on Monday set her bond at $2million and deemed her a danger to the public.
Gibson is in custody in Raymond at the Hinds County Detention Center, where she allegedly attacked another inmate with a plastic spoon, causing the victim minor injuries.
She has since been put in a special housing unit and may face additional charges in connection with the jail incident, Sheriff Tyree Jones told WLBT.
Gibson’s lawyer said she is from Plainfield, Illinois, and has lived in Jackson for five years, where she was homeless.
