Victor Osimhen says he’s not eager to become Galatasaray’s top scorer, emphasizing team performance over individual accolades in a recent interview.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan in January, Osimhen has scored two goals in three league appearances.
There were concerns that the forward might have difficulty adjusting to the club, given Mauro Icardi’s status as the leading scorer for the Turkish Super Lig champions.
The duo, however, has gotten along well both on and off the pitch.
Osimhen stated that he prioritizes the team’s success over personal accolades.
“He’s a huge legend here, and we’ve demonstrated that we can work well together on the field. However, being the top scorer in the league isn’t my priority,” said the 25-year-old to Turkish media.
My goal is to score, assist, and support the team whenever I get the opportunity—contributing both in defense and attack as needed by the coach. However, achieving collective success remains my top priority.
