PDP chieftain Ewoh accuses former Rivers Governor Wike of never winning an election on popular votes, describing him as a political destroyer.
Nnam Robinson Ewoh, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, has labeled Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a “destroyer.”
During a Wednesday interview with Symfoni, the former Rivers lawmaker asserted that Wike has never won an election through popular votes. He claimed that the former governor resorts to violence to secure victories.
In a popular video clip from the interview, the PDP leader conveyed confidence that despite the conflict between Wike and Siminalayi Fubara, the current Governor of Rivers State, Fubara will secure his second term in 2027.
He stated, “Historically, Wike has been a disruptor. He has damaged the PDP along with everyone he backed. Therefore, Wike cannot contribute anything beneficial or innovative to this state.”
In order for Wike to win elections, results would need to be manipulated in his favor. He has never secured an election through a popular vote and doesn’t have faith in the electoral process, making it unlikely for him to take part in any truly competitive election.
Whether or not Wike is involved, it doesn’t matter. Governor Fubara’s chances of re-election in 2027 will be determined by the votes from Rivers, not just Wike’s vote. After all, Wike only has one vote which cannot single-handedly cause the governor to lose the election.
Since Wike took on a significant role in the PDP, the party has experienced a downturn. His contributions haven’t brought success to the PDP and his impact has been detrimental.
“Fubara is certain to serve a second term, and no one in this state is talking about Wike.”
He advised President Bola Tinubu to exercise caution with the minister, warning that Wike might oppose him as political events evolve.
