Activist Aisha Yesufu has stated that the absence of Tinubu and Shettima is going unnoticed by Nigerians, raising questions about their leadership’s relevance.
Yesufu commented on the presidency’s assertion that there was no vacuum in governance, doing so while mocking Tinubu and Shettima’s absence from Nigeria.
While Tinubu is on a two-week leave in Europe, the Vice President departed Nigeria for Sweden on Wednesday for a two-day official engagement.
To clarify their absence, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, stated that all branches of government remain operational despite the president and vice president being away.
Onanuga stated, “It’s crucial to recognize that the president and vice president remain actively involved in national matters, even while traveling. There is no absence of leadership in the country.”
In response, Yesufu shared on X: “You can’t have a void in something that never existed. No one notices the absence of seat warmers.”
