Bukayo Ayoyinka Temidayo Saka (born 5 September 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Arsenal in the Premier League and the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the best wingers and young players globally, Saka has spent his entire senior career at Arsenal, winning an FA Cup and two FA Community Shields. His influence on the team has earned him back-to-back Arsenal Player of the Season awards in 2020–21 and 2021–22.
Saka began his footballing journey in Arsenal’s youth academy, signing his first professional contract at 17. He debuted in Arsenal’s first team in 2018 and quickly rose to prominence with his skill, creativity, and versatility, contributing significantly in attack as well as defense, particularly during the 2019–2020 season when Arsenal won the FA Cup.
Internationally, Saka made his debut for the England senior team in 2020 and has since participated in major tournaments such as UEFA Euro 2020, where England finished runners-up, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Born to Nigerian Yoruba parents in London, Saka’s name, “Bukayo,” means “adds to happiness” in Yoruba.
