The #EndBadGovernance movement in Lagos State has strongly condemned the recent fuel price hike by the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, and described it as “provocative and vexatious.”
The movement views this increase as another blow to struggling Nigerians.
In a statement titled “Latest Fuel Price Hike Shows President Tinubu Is Not Done With Us Yet,” the group demanded an immediate reversal of the price hike and urged Nigerians to protest against the administration.
The statement, signed by Hassan Taiwo Soweto, Osugba Blessing, and Oloye Adegboyega-Adeniji, stated that this hike would worsen starvation and hardship for Nigerians.
According to media reports, the National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) increased petrol prices to between N998 per litre in Lagos and N1,030 per litre in Abuja and other parts of the country.
The movement noted that this is the second price increase within a month.
The #EndBadGovernance movement called on the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to declare a 48-hour general strike and mass protest.
They also urged civil society organisations, NGOs, youth groups, and community associations to unite against the government’s policies.
