Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has said that he is not considering remarrying anytime soon, citing financial constraints as the main reason.
The governor’s statement comes amid speculation about his personal life, following the passing of his wife, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, in September.
During a condolence visit by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Eno jokingly said, “I’m not considering remarrying anytime soon. I don’t have the money to pay another bride price.”
The late Mrs. Patience Umo Eno was known for her philanthropic work, particularly through her Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) project.
Her legacy is expected to be continued through their daughter, Helen Eno Obareki, who has been appointed as the new First Lady of Akwa Ibom State.
