Amazon.com, Inc. announced on Thursday that it will hire 250,000 individuals for full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles in customer fulfillment and transportation across the United States in preparation for the upcoming holiday season. The company noted that a significant number of seasonal hires return for subsequent holiday seasons, with nearly one-third of employees from previous years choosing to come back.
Amazon emphasized its commitment to employee benefits, stating that all full-time staff will receive healthcare coverage starting on their first day.
Additionally, employees can access benefits like up to 20 weeks of paid pregnancy or parental leave for birth parents, along with a complimentary mental health program.
Currently, employees in customer fulfillment and transportation earn an average total compensation of over $29 per hour, following a $2.2 billion investment in pay benefits earlier this year. Seasonal workers will earn a minimum of $18 per hour.
