Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has promised to further ensure the safety of lives and property in the nation’s capital.
Wike gave the assurance on Tuesday, October 1, in his message to residents of Abuja on the occasion of the 2024 Independence Day celebration.
This year’s Independence Day, Wike said, comes at a time when Nigerians are faced with significant challenges—economic, security, and social.He, however, said that as the capital city and the heart of the nation, residents must demonstrate resilience and lead the charge in building the Nigeria of our dreams.
The minister urged every resident to reflect on the spirit of the national day and take personal and collective responsibility for the development of communities, adding that they should stand together to support security efforts, promote peace, protect the environment, and be our brother’s keeper.
According to the statement he, personally signed, the minister said: “It is my honour and great privilege, on behalf of the FCT Administration, to congratulate all residents of the Federal Capital Territory on this occasion of the 64th Independence Anniversary of our great Nation, Nigeria.
