Charles Barkley is launching a new production venture aimed at delving into scripted content, documentaries, and live programming.
The former NBA star and current TNT Sports analyst has teamed up with EverWonder Studio, receiving support from Jeff Zucker’s RedBird IMI. Barkley’s longtime manager, Marc Perman, will serve as president of Round Mound Media while continuing to lead his management company.
TNT Sports has secured a first-look deal with Round Mound, with Barkley committing to remain an on-air commentator regardless of changes to the company’s NBA rights.
The venture already boasts ten projects in development, including a documentary that promises to be the definitive account of Barkley’s life.
In a statement, Barkley expressed his vision for Round Mound Media, highlighting the importance of sharing compelling stories that resonate with audiences globally.
He noted his desire to maintain authenticity in his projects while aiming to create a positive impact. EverWonder, founded by former Time Studios chief Ian Orefice, focuses on sports-adjacent content and plans to host a college sports event centered on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.
Orefice praised Barkley’s influence in sports media and expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that it would elevate Barkley’s unique voice and storytelling prowess.
Perman added that the partnership with EverWonder would enhance Barkley’s creative vision and bring fresh opportunities to the screen.
