Iran is expected to launch an attack on Israel using high-speed ballistic missiles rather than drones or cruise missiles, according to a report from Axios political reporter Barak Ravid.
ACiting a Western source, Ravid noted that this shift in strategy would leave Israel with less time to prepare for interception, as ballistic missiles can reach the country in around 12 minutes, compared to slower-moving drones or cruise missiles that allow for more advanced defensive measures.
NBC News also reported that Israel is bracing for a potential strike, which could happen as early as this evening.
The anticipated targets are likely to be military and government sites rather than civilian areas, according to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari, who described the expected attack as “large-scale.”
