The Ondo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has launched an ambitious Clean City and Beautification Project aimed at transforming the state’s environment.
Honorable (Dr.) Adeyemi Olayemi, Special Adviser on Environment, spearheaded the initiative, emphasizing the governor’s vision for a sustainable, beautiful, and adaptable environment.
This project aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of cities and towns, promote hygiene and sanitation, empower environmental officials, engage stakeholders and communities, and foster a culture of environmental responsibility. To achieve this, the state government has implemented mandatory beautification guidelines for property owners, ensuring clear and clean public spaces, promoting horticultural growth through greening projects, reforming waste management practices, and conducting community sensitization programs.
Leading by example, Dr. Olayemi joined environmental officials to clean up Akure city, starting from Alagbaka through Government House to NEPA roundabout. During the exercise, he urged residents to comply with beautification guidelines and join the effort to create a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful Ondo State.
This initiative demonstrates the state government’s commitment to environmental sustainability, economic growth, and improved quality of life for citizens.
