Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has firmly dismissed rumours of division within the Governor’s Forum, asserting that the forum remains united and strong. In a recent statement, he refuted claims that some members of the forum were defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), labeling such reports as false and deceptive.
Governor Mohammed emphasized the solidarity among the governors, stating that no individual could overpower the collective strength of the forum.
He went on to express his unwavering support for fellow governors, particularly Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and Governor Asue Ighodalo. He praised Obaseki’s leadership and highlighted the importance of using strategy and knowledge to navigate the challenges ahead. Governor Mohammed’s remarks reinforced the notion that the Governor’s Forum remains cohesive and committed to achieving success.
In his address, the Bauchi governor also took a subtle jab at divisive elements within the political space, distancing the forum from arrogance and ignorance. His message was clear: the governors would rise above any challenges by employing tact and insight, rather than engaging in unnecessary confrontations. This appeared to be a veiled criticism aimed at individuals like Nyesom Wike, who have been at the center of recent political tensions.
Governor Mohammed’s comments were made during a live broadcast by Symfoni, where he reiterated that the forum’s unity remained intact. He reassured Nigerians that rumors of discord were baseless and that the forum was focused on moving forward together. He firmly rejected claims that some members were considering joining the APC, calling such rumors misleading.
