The Rivers State Police Command has rescued a teenager who was kidnapped in Enugu and transported to Port Harcourt in a bag. Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, shared the details while addressing the media in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
Disu revealed that the teenager was taken from her home in Garki, Enugu, and placed in a “Ghana-Must-Go” bag before being transported to Rivers State. Following credible intelligence received by officers at Abuloma Police Station, the victim was discovered and rescued.
“The officers acted on intelligence and successfully rescued the teenager who had been taken against her will,” Disu said. He added that the victim was moved to the residence of another suspect upon arrival in Port Harcourt.
Disu confirmed that the suspects are in custody and that the teenager is receiving medical attention. Further investigations are ongoing.
