Apple has increased the cost of battery replacement services on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. The new price is now $119, up $20 from the previous fee. This increase does not apply to the standard and “Plus” models or last year’s phones, as noted by MacRumors.
While Apple has not yet raised prices for other battery replacements, such a move wouldn’t be surprising. In 2022, Apple raised the cost of iPhone 14 battery service by $30 to $99, with subsequent increases for iPads, MacBooks, and older iPhones. The once-affordable $29 battery replacements seem like a distant memory. Defective batteries are still covered under Apple’s one-year warranty, and replacements are free under AppleCare Plus if the battery retains less than 80 percent of its original capacity. For batteries in better condition, options may include third-party repair services or DIY fixes with official Apple parts, which could be more cost-effective than Apple’s full-price service.
