The Borno State government has announced the establishment of a dedicated relief fund to provide urgent assistance to victims of the recent flooding in Maiduguri and its environs.
According to Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, the fund aims to mobilize support from citizens, organizations, and international partners to alleviate the suffering of flood victims and facilitate their recovery.
The statement noted that the recent flooding has caused significant destruction, displacement of families, and damage to vital infrastructure, prompting the government to call on all individuals and groups to contribute to the newly created flood relief account.
