In a decisive operation against banditry, Nigerian troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have successfully neutralized notorious bandit leader Kachallah Buzu, along with several of his fighters, in Zamfara State.
The operation, which occurred on the night of September 12 in Mayanchi village, was executed following detailed intelligence on the movement of the bandits.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported that the troops had laid a strategic ambush, which resulted in the elimination of Buzu and many of his men.
In addition to the heavy casualties inflicted on the bandits, the troops also confiscated 30 motorcycles and a significant stockpile of weapons, dealing a severe blow to the groupβs operational strength.
This successful raid marks a critical victory in the ongoing military campaign to restore peace and stability in the troubled Northwest region, where banditry has long been a threat to communities.
