The Kwara State Government has approved the academic calendar for 2024/2025 session for all primary and secondary schools, both public and private, across the State.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Peter Amogbonjaye.
According to the statement, the approved schedule outlines the resumption dates, midterm breaks and closing dates for each term, ensuring a standardized academic structure for the upcoming year. Below is the approved academic calendar for 2024/2025 academic session.

1st Term:
•Resumption Date: 17th September, 2024Â
•Midterm Break: 31st October – 1st November, 2024Â
•Closing Date: 13th December, 2024Â
•Duration: 13 weeksÂ
•Holidays: 16th December, 2024 – 3rd January, 2025 (3 weeks)Â
2nd Term:
•Resumption Date: 6th January, 2025Â
•Midterm Break: 20th – 21st February, 2025Â
•Closing Date: 4th April, 2025Â
•Duration: 13 weeksÂ
•Holidays: 7th April, 2025 – 25th April, 2025 (3 weeks)Â

The statement further emphasized that all public and private schools in the State are expected to strictly adhere to the approved academic calendar. Any school found violating the approved academic calendar will face appropriate sanctions.
Boarders are required to resume on the Sunday preceding the resumption date for each term and all national and public holidays must be observed accordingly.Â
