A 100-level Biology student at Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, has admitted to killing a female classmate after kidnapping her and obtaining a ransom from her family. The suspect, identified as Jeremiah, was apprehended by police in Kogi State and led them to a location in the bush where he had buried Deborah, a fellow student.
According to reports, Jeremiah, from Kaduna State, abducted Damilola and held her in an unfinished building. He demanded N400,000 from her family, and after receiving the payment, he killed her.
In a video that cannot be shared, police claim that Damilola’s genitals had been mutilated, though Jeremiah denied this allegation.
When asked why he killed her after receiving the ransom, Jeremiah explained that she had seen his face, and he didn’t want her to escape and identify him. After killing her, he reportedly contacted her family again, asking for an additional N10 million. However, the police tracked him down and arrested him. Jeremiah confessed to carrying out the crime alone.
