Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has issued a stern promise to capture notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji, calling it just a matter of time. Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Musa assured Nigerians that the military is working tirelessly with other security agencies and state authorities to protect citizens from the terror unleashed by Turji, including his alleged imposition of levies on communities.
“Turji is just a deranged individual who feels powerful, but his days are numbered,” Musa declared. He emphasized the need for community support to defeat such adversaries, urging locals not to aid the terrorists or provide information on troop movements.
Musa also warned of the dangers of asymmetric warfare, where enemies blend in with the civilian population. He called for unity among the armed forces, security agencies, and the people to deny terrorists any safe haven.
“Our goal is to restore normalcy across Nigeria, but this requires collective effort,” he added, reaffirming the commitment of the armed forces to eliminate security threats and bring peace to the nation.
