Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, has been severely flooded after the collapse of the Alau Dam on Tuesday morning, leaving much of the city underwater. This prompted a visit from the Nigerian Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
In a brief video, the VP is seen navigating his way through the flooded area.
The current flooding is being compared to the 1994 disaster, with residents saying it’s even worse this time.
