Abdelmadjid Tebboune secured a landslide victory in the recent Algeria election, garnering over 5.3 million votes, representing 94.65% of the total, according to the countrie’s electoral body.
Tebboune’s two opponents, moderate Islamist Abdelaali Hassani and left-wing candidate Youcef Aouchiche, received 3.17% and 2.16% of the vote, respectively.
This re-election marks Tebboune’s second five-year term.
