……Wike was Managing Motor park.
In a recent video shared by News Central TV, elder statesman Edwin Clark fired back at former Governor Nyesom Wike’s bold claim that no one could dismantle his political structure in Rivers State amid his feud with current Governor Sim Fubara.
Clark provided a detailed history of political leadership in the state, revealing how past governors like Ada George passed down their political influence to their successors, a system that Wike himself benefited from. Clark recounted how Wike, once a young lawyer managing motor parks, was elevated to local government chairman thanks to a recommendation from John Mbata during Peter Odili’s tenure as governor. Wike later became Chief of Staff under Rotimi Amaechi and was eventually recommended to Goodluck Jonathan for a ministerial position.
Clark emphasized that numerous influential figures helped pave Wike’s path to power and questioned Wike’s audacity to claim sole ownership of the political structure. In his words, “If all these individuals claimed ownership of the political structure, where would Rivers State be for Wike to tell his supporters no one can take it from them?”
