Popular Kannywood singer Ali Jita has left NNPP to join the APC, marking a significant political shift in his career.
Ali Isa Jita, a renowned Kannywood artist from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was warmly received by Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin.
According to a statement released by Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, Ali Jita declared his transition to APC during a courtesy call made at the residence of Deputy President of the Senate in Abuja last Thursday.
Upon receiving the singer, the Deputy President of the Senate expressed that Jita’s defection to APC was a positive development.
The lawmaker warmly welcomed Ali Jita, a young and gifted artist with an abundance of experience and skill. He expressed confidence that Jita’s contributions would propel the development of Kennywood’s music industry forward. The lawmaker invited everyone to join in on this grand celebration, extending a warm welcome aboard to all who come.
Describing Senator Barau as a fatherly figure, Ali Jita who doubles as the chairman of Kano Singers Association (Murya Daya) made this assertion.
“It was Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who brought me into the Kwankwasiyya Movement against my will. However, I have since renounced that allegiance and abandoned my red cap. Now, I proudly declare myself as a loyal affiliate of the APC,” he proclaimed.
He gave assurance to the APC that he would utilize his abilities and talents towards contributing to the party’s progress.
Ali Jita affirmed that they would put efforts towards its success in the future.
