Mr. Mujeeb Adaraloye, a 2021 graduate of the Department of Plant Breeding and Seed Technology (PBST), College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has also been awarded the prestigious 2024 Mastercard scholarship to pursue an MPhil in Biological Sciences (Crop Science) at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Mr. Adaraloye, who focused on crop improvement research, graduated as the best in his class during his undergraduate studies, and he joined the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), as a Graduate Intern under the mentorship of Dr. Ismail Rabbi, immediately after completing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
In addition to his academic achievements, Mr. Adaraloye has gained practical experience working with Soilless Farmlab, Ogun State, where he was involved in hydroponic cultivation techniques. His passion for food security and sustainable agriculture drove his ambition to use the knowledge gained from his studies at FUNAAB to collaborate with leading research institutions in Nigeria. He aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices and contribute to enhancing food security across the nation.
With this scholarship, Mr. Adaraloye has joined a select group of scholars committed to making a positive impact on global food systems, demonstrating the excellence of FUNAAB graduates on the international stage.
