The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is set to build a 132/33 KV Transmission Station at Kpakiama in Bomadi local government area of Delta State, a move that will end the electricity supply nightmares in Bomadi and surrounding areas.
This project, facilitated by Hon. Rawlings Dagidi Andaye, the executive chairman of the council area, will not only benefit Bomadi but also extend to towns and villages down to the Atlantic fringe.
A TCN delegation from Abuja recently visited Kpakiama, confirming the site’s suitability and acquiring 300/300 feet of land at Amalasama. Engr Chukwuemeka Kenneth, General Manager of TCN’s Delta Sub-region, expressed gratitude to the host community for their support and cooperation.
The project promises numerous benefits, including:
Steady Power Supply: The existing line from Ughelli will be replaced, reducing transmission losses and low voltages.
Higher Transmission Voltage: The 132 KV transmission voltage will ensure efficient power distribution.
Employment Opportunities: The project will create jobs for local youths.
Economic Growth: Reliable electricity will boost economic activities in the area.
Hon. Andaye emphasized that electricity is his top priority, assuring that the issue will be resolved in a few months. The host community, led by Mr. Ebiegberi Abamoh, welcomed the development and pledged cooperation to ensure the project’s success.
This initiative follows Hon. Andaye’s previous effort to partner with Tempo Energy Nigeria Ltd to install a turbine in Bomadi, which is still in the documentation phase with the state government.
The TCN project is considered more economically viable and is expected to bring significant improvements to the region’s electricity supply.
