8 Reliable Informants That Are Often Underrated
In the age of information management, almost everyone with a gadget and internet connection goes to the search engines like Google to get information on a particular topic of interest.
But there are some questions that Google cannot answer.
Perhaps this type of information is neither documented in a database nor supported by artificial intelligence.
The custodians of the information are, indeed, natural intelligentia and are often accurate, untainted, pristine, factual and meticulous.
Because they are of ‘lower status’ in the society, people tend to underrate, demean, belittle and undervalue them.
These eight underrated informants are as follows:
📌Drivers: Whether a company or personal driver, the driver has detailed information about the company he works for, his master and his family. Their secrets, and often, strengths and weaknesses are open to the driver. But people often overlook the power an “ordinary driver” wields.
📌Cleaners: I remember when a smart cleaner who was casually skimming through a rough paper the MD of her company mistakingly thrashed in a waste bin. It turned out the document she retrieved saved the company from impending bankruptcy and was later used to win a bigger contract for the company. After she went further in her education at Open University, she later rose to the position of the Admin Head of that company. (A true-life story).
📌Gatemen (Security Guards): You would think the majority of them are fōōlish, inconsequential and insignificant. They have information about the family/company they work for. The safety of the house/company depends on God and them. Besides, they have your dirty little secrets. The Gatemen know the side nigga of Madam and the side chick of Oga. But they always mind their business. Dem never get another job for filling station! Mess with them at your own peril.
📌House Maids: These people will tell you the detailed analysis of the DNA of your children. They know your best food, favourites and all your addictions. They know when you and your wife are making love and the lives of the whole family lie in their bare hands. Never despise them!
📌 Messenger: Those guys you call casual workers, office boys, messengers, non-kinikan-kinikan staff, all the files, documents or papers you call “confidential” are not confidential to them. They know the flow and they understand the terrain. They can expose you and your business to your competitors within a twinkle of an eye. Treat them right!
📌Okada Riders: Well, these are natural Google maps and moving encyclopedia. They are the repository of knowledge and ‘professors’ of geography. I’m referring to homebrew Okada Riders. They will take your wife to her concubine in the afternoon and take you to your Mistress in the night. If Okada Riders tell you that you are raising another man’s son, don’t do any DNA; don’t even argue with them. Many random people often share their problems with Okada men. Some even end up seeking advice from them. These special but underrated workers are information warehouse. Just tip them and download everything you want!
📌Hotel Attendants: My friend once worked in a popular hotel for two years. He used to tell me that if he started telling me what his eyes 👀 saw, there would be ‘vawulence’ everywhere! They know brother Joseph and Alfa Taju who are also yahoo boys, they know hijab sister and choir mistress who are runs girls in the dark, they know armed robbers and cultists because they are all their regular customers. But wait, what do they know? They must keep ‘kwayet!’
📌 PAs: You know the appellation “Personal Assistants?”, it’s a big scam. Don’t fall for it. They will be acting as PA but before you know it, they have built two houses, bought five cars and invested in many businesses. They have information that the Boss does not even know himself. Fear them! 😀
These aforementioned people are highly significant to the success or failure of wherever they work.
They should never be maltreated!
Most importantly, they are in the best position to give you key information and honest advice when making critical decisions. Value, honour and respect them.
