Emeka Beke, the APC Chairman in Rivers State, has spoken about the issue surrounding the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who had initially declared their defection from the PDP to the APC but later denied leaving their original party. He stated that, according to the law, these members are still considered part of the APC.
In a video recently shared by Channels TV, Beke said no legal decision had reversed their membership in the APC, and as far as the party is concerned, they remain members. He also encouraged the lawmakers to fully embrace the APC, assuring them that they are welcome and that no one is being pushed away from the party. Beke reaffirmed that the APC would continue to recognize these members and provide them with full support.
In Beke’s words: “They are still members of our party APC, it is clear by the law. Anybody who thinks that he wants to run away, no order has been able to vacate them that they are not members of the APC. We all know they are members of our party and I urged them to come to the party, nobody is chasing anybody away from our party. They are members of our party and we are going to accept them fully”
