……….Members tasked to be comitted and dutiful
After several months of uncertainty that surrounded the take off of the creation of Owo North West LCDA with Emure – Ile as the Headquarters, the entire people of Owo North West can now breathe a new breeze of life as the Communities that made up of the Owo North West LCDA trooped out in their numbers to witness the Formal Inauguration of members that made the List of the Transition Committee of the Owo North West LCDA who would see to the day to day running of the Local Council pending the conduct of Election into the Local Government in Ondo State by Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) later in the year. The Chairman of the Transition Committee, Ch. Barr. A. Eniola- Ajipe who also doubles as one of the Elemure High Chiefs had last week been inaugurated alongside other Chairmen of the Transition Committee of the 18 Local Government and 33 Local Council Development Areas in Ondo State at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Akure with a Charge from the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the Chairmen to go to their respective Local Government and Council Areas to inaugurate the respective Members.
Recall that the news of the creation and the attendant announcement of the 33 LCDAs created by the former late Governor of the state, late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu while the present Governor was serving as his Deputy Governor was received with gladness and fun fares across the State. When the news came that the court had invalidated and nullified the said 33 LCDAs, this did not go down well with the people across the State and people especially those who are particularly concerned about grassroots development immediately made overtures to the State Governor and registered their displeasure and concerns over the Court pronouncement. The Governor as expected directed the State Attorney General to appeal the said judgment and filed a stay of execution of the judgment in question. Mr. Governor in a widely circulated Press Release signed by his Chief Press Secretary to constitute a Transition Committee for the 18 Local Governments and the 33 LCDAs to oversee the Affairs of the various Council Areas said the State Government cannot afford to joke with the welfare of the Ondo state people especially the Grassroots development and would look into various agitations and grievances of those who went to Court and seek for political solution to address their various concerns.
With the inauguration of the Transitional Committee chairman by the governor, the chairman in his bid to hit the ground running has inaugurated the Transitional Committee of Owo North West LCDA Emure Ile on Monday, 15th July, 2024 at the temporary site of the Secretariat.

In his word, “don’t see yourself as a boss, you are to see yourself as a servant, therefore your objective is to sustain the developmental stride of Mr governor ” the chairman appealed to the members to maintain peace with all irrespective of party interest ” consider yourself as lucky as the name of the governor implies, you must not see this as an end in itself but as a means to an end. You owe ia duty to serve therefore you should relate with all in order to sustain the temple of peace and progress in the Council Area and the State at large . A hen with a golden egg must be nurtured “
The chairman further in his words, called for the cooperation of all and sundry ” the LCDA is ours, it is not about me, Chief Barr Eniola Alaba Ajipe, am just a tenant here but the LCDA remains even after me. He solicited for the cooperation of all residents of Owo North West LCDA in order to make it a shining one amongst all other LCDA in Ondo State.
Barrister Ajipe felicitates with Elemure of Emure Ile that the LCDA comes in his time he prayed that kabiyesi will live to witness more developments. In the same vain, the chairman extended his goodwill to all the traditional rulers in the LCDA that their reign and time will be peaceful and be full of progress in their domains and the entire Owo North West LCDA. He assured all the Kabiyesis his readiness to work with them and to accord them their respect as given by the Almighty God. In the further Charge of the Chairman to other Members of the Transition Committee, he said Mr governor is not joking with the Traditional Institutions, he knows their values therefore he has commissioned us to respect the throne ” the chairman called on the traditional rulers to please support him and his team in order to succeed.
Mr chairman called for support as there are still a lot of things to be put in place in the Secretariat. ” Our appreciation has no limit to all our sons and daughters, we know that you are always ready to support the course of development, if not for your assistance probably it might not be possible to stay under this roof therefore we say thank you but remember that you are our beacon of hope, we are Oliver Twist, it is our appeal you will assist to fix the Temporary Secretariat to make it more befitting”
In his vote of thanks, Dr Dolapo Fatogun, an APC Stalwart in the LCDA thanked God for the opportunity, he congratulated the chairman and his team. He called for cooperation of everyone with the team in order to support the chairman to succeed. I know the capability of the chairman, I know his love for the kingdom, Sir, this is just a good beginning of reward of your service to this kingdom better days are here” he charged every indigene of Emure – Ile Community and Members of Owo North West LCDA to begin to see Emure Ile in a new form, he called for their support in order to make the LCDA strong .
