A fire broke out early Monday in an apartment building in east London, leading to an evacuation and sending two people to the hospital.
The London Fire Brigade reported that the fire, which started at 2:44 a.m., engulfed the entire building, including the surrounding scaffolding and the roof. Four people were treated at the scene, with two of them later transported to the hospital, according to the London Ambulance Service.
The fire drew a massive response, with 40 fire engines and approximately 225 firefighters working to contain the blaze in the building, which houses both residential and commercial units.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. By midday, the London Fire Brigade confirmed that all residents had been accounted for.
