Saturday’s perfect late-summer weather attracted 83,240 visitors to Day 4 of the New York State Fair, bringing the total attendance for the event to over 200,000, according to fair officials.
The influx of people caused traffic backups on Interstate 690 and filled many of the fair’s main parking lots. To alleviate congestion, officials suggested using the Park-N-Ride service.
The fair continued to draw large crowds with Chevelle headlining the evening’s entertainment.
The favorable weather is expected to persist, though it may be slightly warmer with a high of 84 degrees in the Syracuse area. Visitors today can enjoy the final day of the Asian Village, featuring Vietnamese and Korean cuisine, and refreshing Thai iced tea.
Additionally, Syracuse University’s Otto will make a special appearance at Indian Village at 4 p.m., joining SU Coach Gary Gait to celebrate the lacrosse tradition.
