Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned Nigerians to prepare for tougher times ahead. He urged President Bola Tinubu to take necessary actions to avoid a significant protest that could paralyze the Nigerian economy for two weeks. In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele expressed that ongoing confusion within the current government would negatively affect the country and its citizens.
Ayodele reminded the public of his past predictions, stating, “When I said diesel would reach N1,500 and petrol would increase to N1,000 and N1,500, people dismissed me as a doom prophet, but these predictions have come true.” He warned of another protest on the horizon that could cripple the economy for weeks. He further predicted that petrol prices would still rise to N1,300 and that further economic challenges, including the need for recapitalization across sectors and increased tariffs, were imminent. Ayodele urged the president to address these issues before the year’s end to prevent even greater hardship, predicting severe economic and security challenges if the current trajectory continues.
