Dr. Ifedayo Adetifa, the former Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), has been appointed as the Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Executive Officer of FIND, a global non-profit organization. FIND, which focuses on accelerating equitable access to reliable diagnostics worldwide, announced the appointment on its website. Dr. Adetifa, a seasoned pediatrician and infectious disease epidemiologist, previously led the NCDC, where he played a crucial role in advancing Nigeria’s COVID-19 response and managing significant public health initiatives. He succeeded in attracting substantial program funds and overseeing large teams dedicated to combating infectious diseases.
Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Dr. Adetifa emphasized the critical timing for global health and diagnostics and his commitment to driving innovation at FIND. The Chair of the FIND Board, Dr. Ayoade Alakija, celebrated his appointment as a significant milestone, marking him as the first African CEO from the Global South to lead FIND.
