Governor Alia of Benue has canceled the scheduled APC SEC meeting, sparking speculation about the reasons behind the decision.
Mr. Hyacinth Alia, the Governor of Benue state, has refuted claims made by former chairman Mr. Austin Agada regarding a State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting held by All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he had no information or involvement in such an event.
It had been reported that a meeting of the SEC was planned for Thursday.
Alia, the Governor and leader of APC in Benue State has rejected these allegations and stressed that no meeting organized by APC could be held without his knowledge.
Moreover, he cautioned that any unauthorized gathering attempting to disrupt peace within the state would face serious repercussions.
Governor Alia emphasized in his statement, “It should be noted that I remain the APC leader of this state and no meeting can take place without my awareness.
As the Chief Security Officer, it is crucial for me to be briefed about any authorized assembly.”
He emphasized the significance of following lawful procedures and asserted that Nigeria as well as Benue State are not lawless.
Therefore, those who endeavor to diminish the power of the state should take caution and behave appropriately.
