Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa said he is more than ready to pay N70,000 minimum wage to civil servants in the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to governor Sule on public affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba made this known at a media chat with the correspondent’s chapel.
Ahemba disclosed that Mr. Sule has already approved the payment of the new minimum which is set to commence any moment soon.
“Governor Abdullahi Sule is more than ready to pay the ₦70,000 minimum wage passed into law and accented to by the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His excellency Engineer Sule is committed to Workers welfare and the entire development of the state”, Ahemba said.
Ahemba stated that the state government applaud the youths in the state for shunning the ongoing protest in some parts of the country, but rather resolved to dialogue.
“The government of Abdullahi Sule is aware of the current hardship everyone is going through and he is taking steps to address the current hardship through profitable youths engagement and entrepreneurship training as parts of his agenda of industrialisation.
Governor Sule urged the youths to remained calm as his administration is working hard to creates employment for the youths through his industrialisation policy that is fast yeilding result.
On alleged fertiliser diversion by government officials, governor Sule vowed to deal decisively with any government appointee found guilty.
The federal government recently sent trucks of fertiliser to be distributed to farmers free of charge across the state, and Nasarawa has received and distributed to farmers across the 13 local governments.
“However, there are alligations of diversion of the fertilisers in three local governments by some government officials. The governor has directed the security agents in the state to carry out a full scale investigation to fish out the culprits.
“Engr. Sule has vowed that no appointee under him will be spare if found guilty of the diversion. Governor Sule has zero tolerance for sharp practices especially if his appointees are involved.
