Protesters have on Monday defied President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive, stormed the streets of Gusau the Capital of Zamfara state, waving Russian flags and calling President Viladimir Putin to come to the rescue of Nigerians.
The protesters who came out on Monday were carrying leaves and Russian flags, chanting different songs as they parade.
Chatting with some of the protesters, they said the reason for carrying Russian flag was to indicate the country’s grievances and need urgent response from President Putin to come and rescue the country from its present predicament.
They said they are out on a peaceful demonstration not to cause violence or to make destruction of government or public properties, but to ensure the leaders in the country know their grievances.
Yakubu Aliyu popularly called “the leader” told our Correspondent that the speech made by Present Tinubu in his Broadcast on Sunday, has even provoked Nigerians, and described the speech as empty.
