A Florida sheriff’s deputy was killed and two others were wounded in an ambush shooting at a home in Eustis on Friday night. Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell reported that deputies were responding to a disturbance call when they encountered heavy gunfire after entering a residence.
One deputy, who was initially shot and trapped inside, did not survive. The second deputy sustained shoulder injuries and is in stable condition, while the third deputy was critically injured and undergoing surgery.
The SWAT team, responding to the chaotic scene, found two suspects dead and a third wounded. The incident, described as an ambush, involved a violent confrontation with no prior indication of danger at the location.
