A judge has formally dismissed Rudy Giuliani’s bankruptcy case after he and his creditors reached an agreement on handling administrative expenses.
The dismissal removes the bankruptcy protections that had shielded Giuliani’s assets and enables Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss to pursue the $148 million defamation judgment they won against him.
The judgment was awarded for Giuliani’s false claims of election fraud involving the workers. Giuliani must now place $100,000 in escrow and pay the rest from selling his New York apartment or Florida condo. The resolution follows months of disputes over Giuliani’s financial transparency and the bankruptcy’s impact on other lawsuits against him.
