A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress in Ondo State, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde played as special guest at the just concluded Ipe day celebration in Ipe Akoko, Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo.
The ex-Federal Lawmaker in a statement released to newsmen described the event as a colourful one which he however used to play host to different associations to seek supports for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the November Governorship Election
According to him, Today, I had the honour of being the Special Guest at this year’s annual Ipe Day celebration. The event was a vibrant showcase of the community’s rich cultural heritage and a testament to the unity and pride of the people of Ipe.
The National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED) Akoko South East Local Government chapter led by its General Chairman Comrade Adeloye Oluyemi Franklin, paid me a courtesy visit. In recognition of my consistent support for the masses, they presented a letter appointing me as their Grand Patron. This gesture reflects their appreciation of my efforts in promoting public health and welfare within the community.
Members of the Ondo State Artisans Group (OSAG) in both Akoko South East and Akoko South West Local Government Areas led by its Chairmen Mr. Ajakaye John and Mr. Aluya Monday Bamidele respectively also visited. While the Akoko South East OSAG appointed me as its Patron in recognition of our contributions towards supporting local artisans, the Artisans in Akoko South West seized the opportunity of their visit to discuss the challenges they are facing and asked for greater support from the government. The meeting provided an opportunity to explore potential solutions and reinforce the importance of supporting local artisans.
I also hosted a group of selected Senatorial Women Leaders. The meeting focused on discussing issues affecting women in the senatorial district, including empowerment, education, and healthcare. This engagement highlights our commitment to inclusive governance and addressing the unique challenges faced by women in the community.
Today’s activities were rounded off with a solidarity visit by the representatives of Akoko South East Amaechi Women for Aiyedatiwa. They promised massive mobilization efforts in support of the Governor’s electoral victory. The visits demonstrate the strong political backing and grassroots support we enjoy, as well as our capacity in mobilizing community members for significant causes.
