The Emure-Ile Future Pride Youth Forum, also known as Ankara Youth, has expanded its annual prize giving initiative to LEA Primary School in Eporo, an adjoining community under Emure-ile town. This initiative, which started nine years ago, aims to enhance students’ performance in primary and secondary schools by celebrating excellence among schoolchildren.
Every year, at least 30 outstanding students receive prizes from the forum to encourage them and their peers to remain focused on their studies. This year, the initiative took a positive turn by extending to adjoining communities in Emure-ile.
At LEA Nursery and Primary School’s 2024 session closing, the Forum’s selected team presented prizes to best-performing students in each class. During the presentation, the management of the school praised the initiative as unusual, stating that it will complement their efforts in bringing the best out of the students. They however highlighted the school’s deplorable infrastructure of the school and appeal on the forum support in drawing necessary attention to it. The team later inspected the school facility to observe the level of condition and promised to explore possible means to address the infrastructural deficit and create a suitable learning environment.
Later this week, the forum will conduct the initiative in Amurin, another adjoining community, and prepare for similar events at Our Saviour’s Anglican Primary School, The Apostolic Primary School, and Community Grammar School in Emure-ile.
