Esu is one of the early orisha that Olodunmare has created to work in accordance with the rest to make earth a safer abode for peace makers and to make earth a hell for the evildoers.
  So know Esu as a very tall handsome man while others see him as short and ugly… but this has made us know that Esu is an orisha with many features and personality attached to it.
    Esu Odara this is the Esu that serves as intermediaries between the traditional worshippers and the orisha ..he his also the one who pass some of our request to Olodunmare..the main purpose of this Esu is to collect Ebo and also collect offering in accordance to making ajoguns (evil of life) far away from us …this Esu eats and take anything given to him except for adi which was the Esu taboo .
Esu, is spiritually recommended as a trusted confidant when confidence is desired.
The spiritual recommendation is from a verse of Odu Ifa, which states in part:

   Ko si eniyan mo
   Mo ba Esu mu’le, ati bee bee lo.
