The Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai, JTF Theater Command Headquarters Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Maj. Gen. Wahidu Shaibu, Monday, restated the willingness of tr00ps to continue to rescue those that were conscripted by the Boko Haram terr0rists as directed by the COAS, Lt. Gen. A. Lagbaja.
He also said the Chibok girl is the 19th so far rescued by the Theater Command tr00ps and efforts would be made to rescue others with the support and cooperation of the people through intelligence while thanking the state government foe its support.
General Shaibu reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian military in the restoration of peace in the North-east region and Lake Chad zone while appreciating the tr00ps and media for their efforts and reportage respectively.
Briefing journalists on the rescued Chibok school girl and her children, the GOC 7 Division Nigerian Army Maimalari Cantonment , Maiduguri, Brig. Gen. AGL Haruna at the Theater Command Headquarters during the handing over ceremony gave details as follows:
On 23 June 24, Ihyi Abdu along with her 2 children were rescued by troops of 21 SAB during an offensive operations conducted within Sambisa Forest.
“She is 27- year- old Kibaku by tribe and Muslim by faith. She hails from Kubur-Mbula village in Chibok LGA of Borno state.
“She is at serial 67 on the list of abdùcted Chibok school girls published by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) in 2014.
“While in captivity, she was f0rcefully married to one Abu Darda at Gwoza town in 2014.
“However, Abu Darda who is an indigene of Plateau state later relocated to Senegal and she later got married to other terr0rists that were eventually neutralised by tr00ps within Sambisa Forest.
“Prior to her rescue, she was married to one Bana and they resided at Garin Mustapha in Njimiya in Sambisa Forest.
“At the moment, she is 3-month pregnant. Since her rescue, she has gone through detailed medical examination along with her 2 children and unborn child and were administered with the appropriate treatment and management.
“I hereby handover Ihyi Abdu and her 2 children, Khadija and Anas to the representatives of the Borno state government,” Gen. Haruna said.
