Honorable (Dr.) Adeyemi Olayemi, Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State on Environment, represented His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the 14th SYNOD of the Diocese of Owo, held at St. Stephen’s Church, Ipele Owo, Ondo State. The event was hosted by Barrister Olatunbosun Aganun of the Aganun Royal Dynasty of Ipele.
The event was themed “Walking in the light of His word; Recipe for spiritual growth.” The Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev Stephen Fagbemi, in his speech, preached the gospel of peace and growth in line with spiritual guidance of Holy Spirit. He further emphasized the support of the former Governor and Chancellor of the Diocese, Late Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu, and the expectations from the incumbent Governor of Ondo State by the church.
During the program, Honorable Adeyemi delivered warm greetings from His Excellency, the Governor of Ondo State, to the congregation. In his address, he shared with Nigerians the current status of individual means of living, acknowledging the challenges faced by many. However, he assured the audience that with time, things will improve, and the situation will become better as the State Government is doing everything possible to better the lives of all in the state.
Honorable Adeyemi also took a moment to remember and pay tribute to the former Governor and Chancellor of the Diocese, Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, who had played a significant role in the diocese’s growth and development. He acknowledged the late Chancellor’s contributions and legacy, which continue to inspire and guide the diocese and the state at large.
Honorable Adeyemi’s message served as a beacon of hope, reassuring the congregation that the government is committed to working towards a brighter future for all citizens. His presence and remarks underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and religious institutions in promoting spiritual growth and community development.
Honorable Adeyemi also talked about environmental protection policies that individuals should adopt in ensuring that our communities are safe from unwanted environmental disasters.
