Nigerian rapper Falz, whose real name is Folarin Falana, has clarified his relationship with singer Simi. The two artists fueled dating rumors after releasing their joint EP, “Chemistry,” in 2016.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Falz explained that their relationship was purely professional and musically driven. He shared that he first connected with Simi in 2013 or 2014 after hearing her hit song “Jamb Question.” Impressed by her talent, he reached out to her, offering a verse for a remix they hadn’t yet discussed.
The collaboration led to more projects together, and Falz described their musical synergy as natural and family-like. He emphasized that their bond was built on music rather than romance.
Simi had similarly described their connection as intense musical chemistry during an appearance on Angela Yee’s podcast, “Way Up,” clarifying that their relationship was not romantic.
Simi’s marriage to singer Adekunle Gold on January 9, 2019, and the birth of their child in 2020 confirmed the end of any speculation about a romantic link with Falz.
